Richard Conroy is a former leader of W3 Projects and headed up the group from March to July 2011. He has extensive experience of the technology industry, with 13 years of programming and development experience.
As part of W3 Projects, Richard concentrates his efforts on developing the skills of the other members. He has run a presentation skills masterclass to build up the confidence and abilities of other members when they are running their own presentations and workshops. He also took it upon himself to investigate why webactivate site publishing was backlogged, and is a point of contact for getting sites put live.
In his spare time, Richard is an eager foodie, and occasionally writes about it on his food and cooking blog. He also likes to ski, travel, is an improving photographer and has some personal hobby coding projects. As his profile picture suggests, he can helm a boat without sinking it, and would like to do a bit more sailing.
He likes to write, on topics that go through his head, and you can find a full spectrum of ramblings in his blog. As a side effect of writing so much, he has learned quite a lot about how search engines work, and this is a skill he is keen to pass onto clients.
He is a member of the 091 labs galway hackerspace, where he likes to participate in the coding projects and learn from other developers. In addition he is a founding member of 091 Brew Masters, a subgroup dedicated to advancing awareness and skills involved in fermentation.
Richard stepped down as leader from W3 Projects in July, and now lives in London, where he works as a software developer. If you need to contact Richard, please use the Contact Form on this page.
